Acknowledging Funding

Everyone has a stake in promoting Prion Institute research.

Communicating the exciting developments in Prion Research and the potential for discoveries is vital, as all Albertans have a stake in the outcomes of Prion Institute-supported research activities, because they are funded by tax dollars.

As a provincial funder, the Prion Institute is responsible for conveying the exceptional value and significance of research into diseases involving protein misfolding, such as BSE, CWD, CJD and other transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs).

In return, we request that award recipients recognize our support by including "Alberta Prion Research Institute in their funding acknowledgments. That recognition can translate into greater levels of funding for the Institute, which can result in additional support for researchers and students in the field of prion research.
